Barcelona Airport is an airport Spanish AENA network that serves the city of Barcelona. It is located 10 km southwest of Barcelona, in the municipality of El Prat de Llobregat, at a height of 4 meters above the sea.
It is the largest airport in size and traffic of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia and the second busiest in Spain after the Madrid-Barajas Airport (Madrid), with which it maintained until 2008 the scheduled passenger air corridor world's busiest : BCN-MAD and vice versa. He was also the eighth airport in Europe by passengers and 32 th in the world in 2007.
